Conegliano Ketubah
Conegliano - This ketubah is decorated with one of the most popu lar decorative programs from the Veneto region of Italy. The artist has taken the design from a ketubah which was created in 1728. The text is surrounded by colourful tendrils. In each of the four corners are roundels which house the four basic tenets of Jewish life – (beginning at the upper right) – Home, Family, Love and Charity. Above the text are gold tendrils surrounded by doves, leaves, floral vases and flowers. Centered above the tendrils is a Star of David housed in a shield. Two ribbons cascade out of this design and inside the ribbons are written the words from Song of Songs: “I am my beloved and my beloved is mine.”
